About the founder
My name is Gerry. I started dierbaar design in 1998 as a passion for objects with a history. After a couple of years i had the opportunity to turn my passion into my profession. having the best craftsmen as tutors and with a lot of patience and passion for the job, i learned all the different skills to restore each piece of furniture into their natural glory.

What’s in an name
Dierbaar is the Dutch word for beloved. You only call objects beloved when they are close to your heart. Objects can become beloved through the way they were given to you, the way you found them or the way you treat them. To us every piece we restore is beloved and so is treated as such, without compromises and with a tremendous respect for the origin of each piece.
